I have a Bosch CX Gen4 EMTB.. night riding season is approaching. I use Magicshine Monteer 8000, have used it with the separate battery pack.
I'd like to hard wire it this year. I know the motor light output doesn't have anywhere near enough power so its a case of tapping directly off the battery output. which I am comfortable to do.

This means I will need a 36v to 8.4v step down. There are any number of cheapo buck regulators out there on the usual suspect sites but wary of taking a punt. I want one that will handle the amps of the monteer 8000 . which haven't measured but I'm guesstimating , based on 8000lumen->100 lumens per watt->80 watts @8.4 v-> approx 10 amps. Without catching fire! can anyone recommend a specific one?
