Hi all I'm a newbie here, Ive been watching the YouTube channel for a few months (great channel Rob!) and now very close to moving from my Enduro Comp (2015) to a Levo Comp, I'm ok with this choice I think, but also need to choose a bike for my wife who will ride some of the time. This will be light riding , south downs, swinley, fire roads, some normal road etc. There will be no jumping or any other stunts !! :)

So based on the above is the Levo HT good enough? My main concerns are the forks (most review say terrible) and I can't seem to find anything on the range of the motor and 400w battery. I need to have a view on how it compares to the Levo Comp 700W as we need a similar range (o/c I'll be asking LBS as well but would greatly appreciate any riders view on this)

Hope Ive not broken any newbie rules with the questions, and all info is very much appreciated

Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,
Levo Hardtails are great bikes and are highly underrated.

Check out my vid and show your partner.

Hope this helps.

The two actual bikes won't have similar range - in most riding situations.

The 1.2 in the HT is about 30% down on power to the 2.1 in your Levo. So potentially, if you were both going flat out, you might have similar range, but she'd keep dropping further back and getting angrier, so you'd have to keep staying ahead to avoid an ear bashing ... ;) :ROFLMAO:

If you were both in Eco with "similar" assistance - they're different motors, so she might end up working harder, then you might get 100km's on flat fireroads, but she'd be wanting to swap bikes after 60km's ....

If you only plan to ride 30km's together then you'll be fine whatever.

If it's not flat going, then body weight will make an impact on range. If you weigh 120kg's and she weighs 60kg's, then even if you're both using trail/turbo, you'll probably have similar ranges. If she weighs 150kg's and you weigh 50kg's, she'll have a flat battery before you've even noticed the FS dropping one bar.

I do agree with your opinion Zimmerframe but I will add that cost vs usage should be factored in.
In the grand scale of things, my Levo Hardtail (with upgrades) was significantly cheaper than my Levo Comp and Kenevo Expert.
I can't comment as to the power difference compared to different motors between different bikes as I haven't swung a leg over every brand but I gladly say that I still feel the assist in eco mode running at 15%

The hardtail is also more efficient, as you get no power loss through the suspension - its not a massive difference but I find that my hardtail gets a little more range than my full suspension.

Thank you all so much for the replies, is there any view on the forks ?
thanks Matt

I'll be honest with you Matt, I swapped out the Suntour XCM forks the moment I swung a leg over the Levo Hardtail. I've took mine to 140mm using a Rockshox Sektor I had lying around. Air forks would be a wise purchase. Nothing to fancy but enough to make the bike versatile.

Yeah, the other half has Suntour XCMs and I have Rockshox Silver Judy on virtually the same bike. There is a world of difference between the two. So glad I got the air suspension.
