Might want to break out the old calculator on that one...That was my prediction in post #821...
Adding a 260Wh range extender, they get a gorgeous》 1KW 《 number for marketing purposes![]()

Yeah I know it's 1.1Kw...1Kw sounds nicer for marketingMight want to break out the old calculator on that one...
I agree. Very very rarely would need 840W. 700W is about right.840Wh battery would be horrible. It will make the bike ride extremely heavy and sluggish. Also, say goodbye to manuals and bunnyhops. There's a reason why Santa Cruz went with 600Wh on the Vala. Smaller and thinner battery also avoids the dreaded "pregnant downtube" looks that everyone hates.
I think I get what you say, but maybe also not, but OK...But it goes to 11, why not make 10 louder…..but this is 11![]()
It’s why they should offer 2 sizes.840Wh battery would be horrible. It will make the bike ride extremely heavy and sluggish. Also, say goodbye to manuals and bunnyhops. From what I have looked at the new style battery at 814-840 watt/hr that runs on the 48 volt system is pretty much the same weight as the current 700 watt/hr battery in the 36 volt setup840Wh battery would be horrible. I've an awful feeling this is the main feature being removed. If you can afford a s-works you can afford a second smaller battery for every day riding.
I hope the battery will still be removable as I often do a battery swap when I do multi day events where we are allowed-to leave a battery at a water point.
If it’s small and compact like the Bosch battery even better.
At the moment I ride mostly with a 500 and then leave my 700 at the 1/2 way water point during a race. (We have ebike category races here )
But a range extender would be an even bigger bonus where there are no battery swap station on some of the longer events. As I have not found an elegant solution to stick a specialized batter in a hydration pack without riding with a full on hiking rucksack.
Side loading battery is one of few rumors I don't belive is trueBattery is removable. Side loading like a Trek Rail.
I hope not .... I have not recovered from December's shopping yetI think the embargo is about to lift
Don't worry, you can put down 10k euro now, and can do interest free finance for the rest of the 15k euro.I hope not .... I have not recovered from December's shopping yet
I imagine the Embargo lift time is set with the US timezones in mind, so probably in the afternoon in Europe. Assuming it's today...Unbelievable, pictures should be popping up somewhere...
The problem is I earn in ZAR ....Not euro ....Don't worry, you can put down 10k euro now, and can do interest free finance for the rest of the 15k euro.
Other than price you are closeI thought about waiting for the new levo for a long time, but they can't equalize the amflow, let alone top it. My requirements are :
Trail bike not enduro
20kg
800wh
160/150 travel
Top motor
8-12 amp charging
and the price!
Too bad they can't manage that.
maybe this is the right place for you than. ;-)I thought about waiting for the new levo for a long time, but they can't equalize the amflow, let alone top it. My requirements are :

all this is not specialized like…
From what i understand the embargo lifts on 4. FebIf they just had the press launch last weekend I’d think the launch will still be a few weeks away. They need to give time to the media outlets and reviewers to prepare articles, videos etc. to coordinate with the launch.
Customers care about warranty and support and the star is still shiny and sparkling In this respect at SpecializedSpecialized has made a mistake (imho) with timing on this bike .
When customers realize high quality bikes (Forbidden,Unno and at least 4 others) will come with Dji this year, the new Levo will not be the "star" of the show uppon launch. It will sure be at the front, but not the leader as it once was.
I understand they had stocks to worry about, but customers don't care about that...
I mean it depends on what motor they have gone with. We still don't know that info yet. I find it hard to believe it's a Brose Peak at this point but we'll see soon. Hopefully whatever it is sets a new standard for reliability. Industry needs to move away from motors being seen as a consumable.Specialized has made a mistake (imho) with timing on this bike .
