Kenevo Boxxer Select Fork - 180mm - C2

I have some questions around setup. Trailhead recommends 154psi and 7 clicks rebound.

I tried various pressures with the standard 2 tokens, but bottomed out a little too frequently for my liking. Went up to 4 tokens.
I found a bit of rooty trail with a jump in it, and rode it over and over with different settings. Tried various pressures from 120psi - 180psi. small bumps with 120 psi felt a lot better, but it was sat a long way down the travel and bottomed out. 180psi was horrible, very bouncy and harsh, but used less travel. In between was obviously a balance, but I couldnt find a sweet spot for harshness/bottoming out.

i have a lyrik on my other bike with charger 2.1 and air side upgrade, and it seems significantly better than the boxxer. I also have a standard lyrik I use whilst servicing, the upgraded fork seems significantly better small bump sensitivity than the standard one.

1. add more tokens, lower pressure
2. add less tokens, higher pressure
3. avalanche damper (£425 + import duty)
4. charger 2.1 damper upgrade (£300)
5. buy boxxer ultimates (£lots)
6. It was manufactured in 2023, perhaps it needs a service (although only used for 1 month from new so far)

Does anyone have any experience of any of the above?

FAQ on rockshox site states that the ultimate needs new lowers to get the low friction bushings.

Terrible fork, maybe suits lighter riders?
Bit better with the 2.1 damper but the fox40 is a million times better.
Every ride i seemed to be pissing around trying to make it feel right. The 40 felt perfect out the box with the recommended settings.
Personally i wouldn't waste any time or money on it.

EDIT interesting to read the ultimate has different bushes? Seems unlikely. I purchased ultimate lowers to go mullet and noticed no difference in performance.

This seems crazy though, its a DH fork, and the expert model kenevo!! you'd expect it to work well at what is supposed to, DH...!

RE the bushes, this is on the RS FAQ:

Are there differences in RockShox lower legs between Ultimate and Select+?

Yes! The new Ultimate models feature lower bushings that are 53% longer than before to further optimize friction reduction. We maximized the internal bushing overlap to minimize friction across all models in the MY23 lineup.

Isnt my23 the d model range, ie the newer ones. I know all the latest buttercup stuff was different.
I would be surprised if this applied to the older c model 35mm fork.
