My fist bafang full suspension after messing about on a hardtail. The ranger was ace for getting up and about when I track build. I found the bafang modes far too twitchy so I blanked all the modes and only had it on thumb throttle without brake sensors. I’m used to riding motorbikes so just let of the throttle as I changed gears. Worked amazing for enduro/dh riding. Only problem was I had one really strong thumb 👊🏻The kit is now on an orange five that I’ve retro mulleted with 26inch rear and 650b front.

Do you need help in programming the motor?

If you have the bafang programming cable, I can forward you parameters which should aid in the 'twitchy' PAS 👍🏿

Thanks Neeko but I already have all the stuff for messing around with the different settings. I just found them all no good for technical enduro singletrack climbs and off the beaten track searches. I much preferred stripping it all back and just using the throttle with no brake/gear sensors. It felt more natural and I reduced the amount of wear on the cassettes.

Fair doos!!
Sick builds by the way🤙🏿.
Truth be told, I'm also tinkering with the bafang side of things but in an effort to try and reduce the cables up front.

Word on the street is that the bluetooth module which is in the newer M620 and M625 motors might be compatible with older models so I'll be sure to keep you updated if your interested 👍🏿

Thanks Neeko that’s would be great if you could let me know. I have a couple of “normal” ebikes which I enjoy but I still come back to the bafang 02, I get just as much joy out of riding it.
Yes the Bluetooth would be decent. I played around with the battery on the bike but the ride felt much better with it strapped to my back. I blew the mosfets climbing the single track in the tweed valley but after replacing them( and ordering the upgrade controller from Luna) it never gave me a problem no matter what I climbed. Really simple to strip down and grease. Just a great little motor. I do like the look of the cyc though. I’m tempted to get one so I can fit it into the front triangle of a chosen frame helping with clearance on the dh/enduro tracks trikes I sometimes get.
