Is it possible to fit a Bosch CX motor into an older Performance Line equipped bike?

If you have ever wondered, can I fit a newer Performance Line CX motor into an older Performance Line equipped bike? Especially without up-grading, re-programming, changing wiring or controls! Well, I thought I would try it, and... yes it is possible! Its also easy! If you want to fit your plastic covers on again, you would just need to remove the plastic CX badge on the motor cover.
My Nyon controller had no problem talking to the motor and vice versa.

This is what I would like Bosch make for the future. Make new generation motors that fit and replace for example performance CX without changing the bike ! If Bosch do this, Bosch will continue to be the leader IMO

Maybe we could make adaptor brackets? But the motor covers would not fit and these days they are different for every bike! I guess it's called progress.

Ive done that made custom brackets here at the garage im a registered engineer so no plastic welding or ropes needed, but a older gentleman came in on his bike a backrack bosch powered Raleigh And bought a mountain bike miles to big for him it was fitted with a cx gen 4 very nice motor but his motor was a classic a gen 1 i suppose with 3sleeved bolts in a half moon shape however i managed to make brackets that ran round bolted from the original holders bothsides to the 3bolt half moon type shape were i gotta say it was a really solid setup the holes went through a really thick aluminium part built onto the bike and was in the triangle of the bike rather than hanging down under the frame smart place for a expensive motor and the holes had aluminium bushings going rite through along with the sleeves i put a new set of sleeves in the old ones were fine but modern sleeves are only supposed to be used once and are thinner than the old ones but id the same ones and i kept the old ones aside just incase of any bother and he wanted his original bash gaurd the plastic piece rather than the new and it fitted like a glove it even worked off his display the modern motor.he dropped back in for a cuppa as i sent a diagram to the dealer incase and the dealer agreed that it was as solid and safe as he's ever seen and asked if he could keep a copy to send to head quarters i also fitted a rack for the extra battery that came with the modern bike it was a battery that went inside the down bar but i made one that went on the inside or the outside of the downbar and the old chap said he the dealer was very excited about how well it was done but suggested a plastic cover but before he could use the battery he needed some go ahead and some software from headquarters anyway he gifted me a really cool cube ebike with all the modern bells and whistles except a motor and battery as i only charged the price of the bita steel which was very cheap.
