InTube battery cover

Hi guys,
Noticed this last night, my battery cover seems to be getting very hard to open due to a build up of dirt in the little metal latch. Just wondered what others have done about this issue?
One other thing I've noticed is the flap on the charging port seems to be coming open on its own. Again potentially due to dirt so just wondered if there were any suggestions about that too.

That stupid battery cover...what a pain. Yes mine was very hard to open. I took a file and filed small recess in the part where you push so my nail can grab plus I bent it down a little to increase the angle. It is fine now.

I've taken to covering it with tape and using WD40 on it but on occasions I've had to use a rubber mallet and piece of wood to get the damn thing open.

I would definitely not lube it. It sounds good but before you know it, it will collect dirt and be impossible to open. It can be removed easily and washed out. Push the tab and slide it out. Since my minor modification, I have had no issues removing it
