Hello chaps - I cycled as a teenager, took a short break for 40 years and returned to road cycling 10 years ago. After doing the Manchester to Blackpool with 7000 others I sold my rockhopper, hybrid and carbon road bike and bought an e-gravel bike. I love it and it works just fine for trails, canal towpaths and the like. I found this forum because I followed an eBayer selling a Cube e-hardtail and missed the purchase by 10 minutes.
I am 72 years of age, love e-bike assistance, have nurse friends in their fifties who have the electric full suspension MTB's - Voodoo, Haibike and top of the range Canyons - and I am now looking to purchase a sub 21kilo e-hardtail.
I drove 2200 miles last year (Covid, init) and cycled 4200 miles road/trail. I just found out that I can travel free after 9:30 by train and now go some 30 to 40 miles no charge and then cycle back. So, no longer tied to start and end "loops"
A new member today, listed a Cube Reaction Pro this morning but I am second in the queue. If any members think they have an e-hardtail that might interest me then please tell me about it. Weight is critical as I have to squeeze it in the back of my Yeti and then sleep alongside it. (so not full suspension MTBs) Pics next post in case I screw up.
Don't be shy about telling me that I am the oldest member of the forum and I will field questions about leaving my bikes in my will.
Robb
