Had to replace my dropper post on my Merida 160e as bent it in a bit of a get off. I tried to pull it through on the existing hydraulic hose but kept getting jammed on the tight bend down at the bottom of the seat post. Ended up taking out most of the motor bolts which left me enough slack to pivot the motor down enough to feed the cable through, around and up the down tube. So yes and no with taking the motor out there.

Yes, I had to drop the motor to fit the hose to fit a new rear brake on my 2018 Cube stereo hybrid.

Not that big a deal though, as I managed it ok.
