Installation problem. Sram Code R brakes + matchmaker too small for my handlebar?

Hi fellow riders,

I'm facing an issue where I think my handlebar (Nukeproof Horizon carbon 31.8) is too thick for the matchmaker + brake. The clamps don't seem to reach around the brake without leaving some gap. It doesn't look right to me and I'm afraid to tighten more. Can you give some pointers pls? Pics attached (I have placed the brake near the end of the handlebar for a better pic. Not gonna install there ):

Got answered elsewhere. Apparently this is fine and the small gap underneath is normal.

Thanks BAMBAMODA. Unfortunately I don't have a torque wrench, but will try not to go overkill.
