Install an 11 speed cassette on 10 speed Giant Fathom E+2 Pro 2019

Hi! I have replaced my 10 speed 11-36t cassette on my Fathom E+2 Pro 2019 with a 10 speed 11-40t and it is working great.

I was thinking on a possible upgrade to 11 speed (I know that I need to change derailleur and shifter), but then I have read everywhere that a shimmer should have come installed but I can't remember any shimmer when I replaced the original shimano cassette with the sunrace. Everything worked perfectly without any shimmer.

My question is... Should I have a shimmer and maybe I have lost it when replacing the original cassette? If not... is the hub only valid for 10 speed cassettes? Do I need to replace the hub if I want to install an 11 speed cassette?

I have been able to go back and forth between 10 and 11 speed setups, no trouble at all on the standard shimamo freehub. No shimmers needed here.
