HI. I have 2021 Rail 9 and contaminated my front rotor and went to the LBS. He hooked me up with 2 new 200mm rotors ( XON brand ) due to availabilty, which work fine but make an annoying noise when braking, hard to explain but it's just they way they sound. Anyway I want to put Ice Tech rotors on, can this be done? Brakes are currently Sram Codes..... If I had the cash I would just put M8120s as I had them on my last bike and they were amazing!
thanks

Did you clean up or replace the pads? I would have thought a good going over with brakleen would have sorted the original ones out?

First off rotors don't get permanently contaminated... they're not porous enough. Clean with automotive brake cleaner and a terry cloth towel to make sure you remove all contaminants from all the ports. Secondly, Ice Tech rotors were designed for the weight weenies sandwiching aluminum with stainless steel. Get them hot and they warp. They're a freakin nightmare on eBikes but to each their own. As for 203 rotors needing adapters... use 1.5mm washers under the caliper. That's your adapter. FWIW TRP's 2.3mm rotors are the best thing an eBike ever saw.

Have FUN!

Thanks for the feedback G Man, appreciate it. I'll check the TRPs out!
