How often do you do a full battery burn?

What's ya motor power, battery size too?

I'm not that often, Probably once every 2 months. Normally im down to around 50%.
Life gets in the way most of the time.

Bosch cvx 85nm 750wh battery.

I don't regularly do a full burn, and apart from not being great for battery life if you do it all the time it's mainly a time constraint thing.
Accidently ran my Levo SL down to motor cutoff the other day (3%) when I had forgotten to charge it the night before after a full turbo commute to work the previous day, then the same the following day and then headed out for a trail ride and fortunately pretty much got the whole climb in before running it dry. All up 113km and 1,978m elevation.
I've done a couple of other fairly single rides where I have run it down to almost flat.

Two or three per month for me. I like a good battery burner on the weekend but don’t always have the time. Normal weekday ride is a 50-70% pull. Fazua 60Nm 430Wh.

Bosch CX, 750wh powertube. I don't often go for 5+ hour rides hence not using a full battery much.

Pretty much everytime I ride my FF Kenevo. Originally a 500w battery, now at 88%, so 440w

My Orbea Rise is fairly new (1200 km on it), my average ride distance is somewhere around 25K, so I rarely drain more than 40% of my battery. Theoretically, I could recharge the battery every second ride, but I prefer to recharge every time, usually from 45 to 85%.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that E-MTBs battery are made of Lithium-Ion cells and, from what I read a bit everywhere, the smaller the charge gap is, the better is the longevity of the battery.

Pretty much every time. The closest decent riding to me is 45 miles away so I’m going to make the most of it.

My last bike only had 370 W-hr, so I got it down to zero quite a few times. My current bike is 630w-hr and I have never had it below 30%. When I get back home if it is below 55%, I charge it up to 75-85% and leave it until the night before I go out again. Then I take it up to 100%.

Nice, some wildly different responses.

Qudos to the full battery burn dudes every time. I'm usually too time poor to burn full. That takes me at least 3 yours. Usually i'm in the 1.5 to 2.5 hour riding bracket.

I never have. Usually down to about 40%, maybe 30% before putting in a full charge..

Interested to know if this is a good thing or bad, though the bike is nearly 3 years old now and thats the way I've always done it.

Bosch CX and 750w/h battery. I usually charge to 85% and on most ride discharge to 40% ......on one occasion that "reserve" was useful because on getting back to the van I found that my phone had dropped out of my waist pack so had to do the whole ride a gain to look for it..............unsuccessfully.............but a dog walker found it and took it home ironically just before I got to the spot where she found it!! so I got it back the following day.

If you're miles from home then it gets hammered. Certainly not walking because it's got to 30%

I read the manual for the bike and do that since it's a solved issue. Panasonic say after 15 cycles or 3 months.

I'm a minimum of 2 hours and full turbo mayhem. But i've learnt that turbo once up to speed is no faster than emtb, so can increase to 3 hours at full mayhem by flicking down the power levels particular for higher speed gravel sections where you are tapping on the speed limiter.

Rarely. Quite often down to 2 bars on levo though. Most times charged to 100 percent before a ride. Just short of 10,000 miles in just over five years battery has been amazing. It still shows 100 percent health . I'm due to give it the yearly test on eco using the original route I first tested it on .

When I added a light to my Rail, I hadn’t realized that enabling the feature meant that a certain percentage of battery was reserved for the lighting (EU requirement … like two hours worth, based on output of the lighting?). My 625wh Bosch battery got down to 11% and that was that. I had intentionally saved power to get up the hill to my house. No fun at all riding that beast up a hill w/o battery. I went back to Trek and asked them to dial back the wattage setting for the lighting and now it’ll give up the ghost at 4%. On long single-battery rides I’ll take the 625 down to 10%, else usually in the 20%’s.

My Rail 5 came with a 500wh battery and I bought a 625wh straight away. I’ve got a spare backpack designed to carry a battery and occasionally will carry the 500wh and go on the 6k+ ft ascent/40+ mile rides, no skimping on eMTB or Turbo if I get bored/lazy on climbs, and that’s the only times I‘ve drained the 625 (and determined the 4% cutoff).

For optimum battery life the general recommendation for Li ion is 20% to 80%. Look at Tesla recommendation which is max 80% (unless the latest Li ion phosphate which is 100%). Going to 100% stresses the cells. Clearly if you need the absolute maximum range you will have to go outside the 20-80% range but a full charge should ideally be for as short a time as possible. Going below 20% or lower is supposedly equally detrimental to Long life.

I don't think Tesla superchargers will actually go beyond 80-85% (someone else can correct me if this is not the case) and as the charge gets closer to that level the speed/power reduces very considerably anyway.

Fully drain about 10% of the time. Below 20% battery probably 85% of the time. Generally using a 50/50 mixture of trail and boost. Shorter rides (1-1.5 hours) I just use boost. I'd just use boost on all my rides if I wasn't worried about draining the battery. This is with a 700-750wh battery, fairly draggy tires. I weigh about 190 lbs without gear. The drag on these things when they're fully dead is brutal, like riding with the brakes on.

Almost everytime I ride, for me. I ride at BPW (pedal up only) usually at least once a week (lucky enough to live local and have a season pass) and want to get as many runs in as possible. I also have a second battery and on a good day can use the two batteries until the bike is less than 5% on each(Giant Reign e+0) Been doing this for last 2 years and both batteries are in excellent health.

620 or 630? battery/ep8 (sc bullit ).

I usually have one or two bars left after a longer ride, 3 after a shorter ride. Our terrain is rocky, technical and undulating without any sustained mega climbs so I'm not draining half the battery on one climb like some. I also mostly ride in trail mode.

I would probably be good with a diet emtb but I enjoy full power too much and I'm not a featherweight.
