Levo Gen 2 How does Mission Control track miles on the bike?

Sorry for the noob question.
I'm selling my 19 Levo Comp and trying to represent as best as possible. I show 258 miles in Mission Control, but I know that friends have ridden it plenty without the app connected. None of those 'non-mission control' rides are counted in miles correct? So I really can't say for certain absolute total miles ridden, correct?
However, it shows 31 charge cycles... That is something it somehow tracks without mission control... yes?
thanks!

TCU sees all and remembers all. I never ride with the app but the distance is recorded.
How does it know the distance I've ridden? I assumed the app worked by GPS or mobile tower triangulation from my phone. There's no GPS/mobile in the bike. I could see some calculation of revolutions as I peddle against my tire size, but it can't possibly know if I coasted a mile down a hill?

maybe it had a good old fashion clicker in the rear hub ??‍♂️

I dunno, it’s a good question. Did wonder to myself as mission control knew the miles (which was accurate to my strava) but I never linked the two or recorded rides on mission control

The tire diameter is known by the TCU. It also has a magnetic pickup in the rear wheel to count revolutions. From that it knows total distance travelled. Also, that pickup is used for speed, and with that the bike knocks off support at 20mph here in the US.
A caveat, if your motor was replaced, that resets the odometer in mission control to 0 miles.

By the way, mission control communicated directly with the TCU over bluetooth and gets the motor data such as Odometer and temp etc. So the app is only giving you the data that the TCU/motor is storing.
