Hi from Berkshire! Undecided on whether to buy a Levo or Rotwild Ultra RC750

link to the Rotwild:
Ultra

Or I could pick the obvious choice and get a turbo levo expert:
Specialized 2020 Turbo Levo Expert Carbon

Anyone have any other ideas I should through into consideration?
I've got loads of specialized stores within a sensible distance, and I'm all for just taking my bike to the local shop when it's knackered rather than having a go at fixing it myself.
I'm completely new to Emtbs, I've had one go on a levo and I'm trying to find a Rotwild to try before wasting my money!

I have yet to see a Rotwild in the flesh in the UK, the bike is a very interesting one, and definitely a bike I would like to try, but I would have concerns about backup for it.

Before you buy try them all. Then go on the forums and look at the issue the people have with their bikes and how the manufacturers/bike shops deal with the issues.

The Levo is a nice bike but in my experience spends a lot of time in the shop with motor problems and wiring issues. Their warranty is good but you still lose time that you could've been riding which is not good enough for me.

You should look at the Merida e140 or e160. Both are fantastic and the e140 can easily be modified to an e160. Same frame and the fork and shock can be internally modified from 140 to 160mm. YT Decoy is also a fantastic bike and if you're worried about getting things fixed you can have it done at your LBS. The kit that you get on the bike for the price is amazing and it's a brilliant bike. Unfortunately you'll have a difficult time to get a test ride on it.

Bottom line - ride all the bikes you can and make a short list of the ones you like most. Then search the forums to find out what people say about them. Then you make your call based on those facts. You may still miss something but your chances of buying the best bike for you will be greatly enhanced.

Most reliable motors are a Yamaha and Shimano. I prefer Shimano because of the software that is available. Like I said read the forums before you take the plunge and don't listen to the fanboys. Go and read what they complain about sand then decide whether you can live with what people are complaining about. People generally like their bikes because let's face it eMtb's are awesome and most people will defend their bikes with their lives but on the forums you can read between the lines when the frustrations start coming out. And lastly, if you can do some group rides with people on different bikes. Their you see what happens to bikes in real life and also how they handle the conditions that you typically ride in. Is it playful enough, or stable enough? Does it have strong enough brakes? Remember eBikes are heavier than normal bikes and they need more doing power. It looks like you are targeting the more expensive models so that should cover some of these things.

And when you decided just enjoy your bike and ride it as much as you can because eMtb's are FUN ?

Cheers guys
I am struggling to find much about the Rotwilds. Certainly no demos. I've seen the spec sheets as well as pictures and videos. Looks-wise I am entirely sold on it. Thankfully for my sake looks aren't everything otherwise my wife would divorce me ;)

I've already had a bit of a google to find a few places I can trial some bikes. Seems lots of places have them but I need to travel a bit.
My main reason for getting into it is I generally go out with 2 mates who are 30-40kg lighter than I am, they also cycle day in day out. I'm fed up of them waiting for me all the time at the top of every hill.
Will do lots more reading and a few trials... them I'm sure I will be back here asking again!
Cheers
