I use ebikes from 2 years ago, I use right now an Commencal Meta Power 27 Ride, I would say a great enduro bike.
I come to this after many years of MTB, but also touring bikes, which I still enjoy in different cases.
But the ebike brings me the easy effortless uphill, enjoying afterwards the downhill....
