Last year .. 2nd ride on e8000 bike ... fast otb .. fractured pelvis and good concussion, lots of the drippy red stuff. I think my body protected the bike through the tumbles ... :)

I don't know if that better or worse than scratching the bike.

At least when it's scratched, you worry less about it and just ride !

I think I have a lot of long lasting mental damage :confused:o_O:unsure: .. Physically, yes, thankfully .. though it did drag on for a long time and I go though a phase of wondering if that was it, would I be hobbling around like a 90 year old and just feeling broken for the rest of my life. Uhmmm .. maybe it would be better for the bike to get scratched ! :)

Is it a touch up paint job ?? or the beginning of a duct tape rat bike ?

A mate with a new Rail 7 got a puncture yesterday, wonder if the bontagers are a bit lacking in puncture resistance. Have you swapped it to tubeless ? ...

Or there's all the threads on tyre armour for using with tubes.

Check the pressure again before you go out, when you first swap there's sometimes some air seepage for the first ride - and very often overnight if you've not been for a quick spin after you made the change. I'd also go a few psi more than you normally would for the first short ride, again, in case there's any initial loss - you can always take some out after a while if you go for a longer ride.

Each tyre and each persons preference for what terrain they're riding and the riders weight will influence what your pressure should be/could be. There's quite a tendency to run as low as possible in the belief it will give you better performance, but it's not necessarily the case. For me, I've spent the last 6 months slowly trying higher pressures until I reached a point where it felt like the front was washing out too much (for me- with my crap technique), so dropped back down a couple of PSI and found my sweet spot.

An old pinkbike post, but informative ..
