I've never been much of a fan of fat bikes (sorry fat bikers).
But, I actually quite like the look of the Heritage Origine (available with Shimano E6100/Alfine 11 or Valeo/Effgear )
There's always the chance that I'm just showing signs of a midlife crisis or a severe case of Retro Regression.
It certainly has throwbacks to the Café racers of the 60's.
With the 130nm 7 speed Effgear Valeo motor, a 630wh battery mounted low and level Like a Lapiere GLP2 for low centre of gravity, Inverted/upside down fork with 40mm travel (it is a fat bike), belt drive, Formula Cura brakes and inbuilt GPS and tracking it's quite an interesting package for when you don't want to throw yourself down the mountain.
As mentioned, the bike has inbuilt GPS for security tracking so you can track it with the phone app if it's stolen/you forgot which bar you left it outside the night before ... The Valeo one also has the standard Valeo security lock option where the cranks disconnect (the gearbox goes into neutral) so pedalling just spins the cranks and doesn't move the bike.
The "fuel tank" also hinges back and doubles as an in built storage area :
Interestingly, the Shimano 504wh version and the Valeo version both weigh in at the same 32kg's - though the Valeo version weighs in more heavily on your wallet at €1000 more.
