I use my bike as a means of transport and off road various terrain and weather conditions.
I've bwen looking around and cannot find suitable for both. I was thinking of radials, but research and says not comfy for road use.

I like Schwalbe Al grounder. My rides are 50% asphalt and 50% gravel. Not good in mud though.
An other option I was looking was Marathon plus mtb.

Pirelli Scorpion R has a very low knob height, they might make a good dual purpose tire but don’t expect to ride anymore than a casual pace off road. I can’t quite personally vouch for them for performance on pavement but they did come on the back of my Husqvarna HC1, I removed it after one ride because I at least attempt to ride my bike in the manner of its intended purpose but have saved the tire just in case I need something for rail trails at a future date. I wouldn’t be afraid to run them front too.
Pirelli Scorpion
Scorpion Enduro
Knob height isn’t what it appears to be in the picture,I’m sure the Husqvarna product manager just looked at said picture and didn’t get a sample before ordering a big quantity
The Scorpion enduro S front tire has decent knob depth, probably best to just run Enduro R front and rear for the best on road performance.

I wouldn’t recommend for muddy conditions, if that’s what you are attempting then I would get a second wheelset and swap out as weather requires. A spiky mud tire is going to be torture on the road.

Hi Dino24, yes i was looking at the marathon plus too but there was a reason didn't go for those, they wear out quickly in road use or dont grip the road well or something else. I need ones for all terrain including mud, grass, gravel, asphalt etc, etc. Each one I've looked at so far doesnt quite match whar i need. Either they match for all terrain and they arent good for puncture resistance or visa versa.

Thanks for the info who's there, yes spiky would be torture on the roads! Ive looked at that syle.of tyre and says not much grip, uncomfortable to ride with, wear out quicker etc. I will look into the ones you have suggested. I'm not one for changing tyres that's why in need of an all rounder! If I decide to go somewhere on the way home from work I don't have to worry about what tyres I've got on.

I have also tried to find the optimal tire for that kind of use but have not succeeded.
Went for knobby tires after trying 2-3 different combinations since without it's no grip in the woods.
Drag and faster use of tires is not on the top of the priority list it's grip.

Yes grip is definitely better, both on and off road polar

Fully agree with the earlier post regarding the Schwalbe Al Grounder not being great in mud. I am going to go for either Schwalbe Johnny Watts or maybe Continental Ruban.

I bought a Schwalbe Johnny Watt took it off as slippery on back on steep grass. But using it last week on the front in wet conditions and was surprised how good it coped.
