There seem to be a lot of "which bike" threads at the moment .. many of which have anecdotal replies as you'd expect.

I thought I'd spin it around and see if the responses and advice are similar ... :)

Thread title (and post) stolen from a perfectly reasonable and legitimate thread, please be charitable and add something useful there :

So I thought I would ask you helpful people for some assistance in choosing a wife bike for my bike. You helped me out and I ended up with too many bikes.

I went out the other week and they keep coming with me, I've considered hiring a lady to ride one of them with me and several previous girlfriends have shown interest in the idea despite being novices.

The budget is infinite as it always ends up being with anything relationship based. I've narrowed it down to a few ladies, I'm just unsure what will be the most "ride with a wife beginner" friendly. It's only ever been bike/horse combinations before. Ideally something with a big battery. I'm not sure if a beginner would be better with the 29er or 27.5, though it won't make much difference to me as I'll ride something else.

The options up to now are (We will use code names to protect the innocent) :

Pube Reaction
Vitus E-Sullen
Trek Nailed
Specialised Nurse
Pukeproof Megawatt Bling Bling

On paper the Pube is looking the best, it's got the biggest battery, a good heart, good components for the age but it only comes in a blonde.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am deeply concerned; this thread seems to have struck a chord with me, almost sub-conscious, I have started to see innuendos everywhere. My first emtb was a Focus, my second was a ME-Rida. Is there any hope for me?

I would not want my Santa Cruz chick (see below, OMG!) to feel Surly, or get all Huffy about my behaviour while I'm in Transition. There's no need for her to Salsa off when I have Felt Evil, nor to blame her Woom, just because she's feeling a bit of a Yeti at the moment.

I sure hope that you find a Santa Cruz chick, like mine. But like all my bikes, no matter how hard I ride them and no matter how much money I spend on them they disappoint me in the end.

Are you looking for a Full fat or Super Light?
I always love the looks and the idea of the super lights, but I can't help but think I'll probably just end up with a Full Fat which possibly can do more for longer with less compromises than a super light.

Not to mention that the lines seem to be blurring and most people who start off with a super light seem to end up with a Full fat or certainly a more robust lightweight.

Hang on, which thread is this ?

This is definitely my favourite thread !!!! I would say go for an older model though, these new ones seem very expensive and high maintenance, plus the older ones always appreciate you riding them more …. 😳
Considering the average age of the "riders" on this forum who quite possibly have trouble getting their own seat posts up, I, for one, would be willing to do the maintenance on a newer model over all the flat/worn out tires and hubs/chains that need lubing (dont get me started on the weight gain), that tends to ruin your day whenever you want to ride one of the older ones. Just saying... ;)

Wonder if there's any Carry On films on the telly tonight? [UK older members only]
Aren't they all now banned by the woke warriors?

Month ago saw that Roald Dahl books for kids had been censored by the woke police aka "Sensitivity Readers" (wtf?), so grabbed a set of 16 uncensored Roald Dahl books published in 2016 for our grand kids.

Funny thing is, Penguin/Puffin have just decided to republish the uncensored Roald Dahl books again in response to demand for them. You couldn't make it up. :ROFLMAO:

Sorry, my fault. I should have made it more clear, I'm looking for a woman.
In his endless quest to find a soul mate it would appear that Zimmer has gone to the extraordinary lengths of training a wolf pack to capture the ideal female ..
It would appear that this lady has had a lucky escape after a recent trip to Germany by our main man ..having ticked all the boxes ..female/ dog lover / ebike owner ..with a Bosch motor ..
Next time mate 👍
