Hi All, I have a converted ebike but went on a ride recently with a mate who has an EMTB.
it was superb and I'd like to take the plunge, The cycle to work scheme opens in June at my workplace, so I will use this to purchase an EMTB. Up to 5K assistance with 40% tax deduction seems too good to be true!

I'll be starting a poll soon to help me decide which bike I should aim for. I will be willing to top up a small amount so I'm looking at £5500 or so as my budget.

only snag is there is only one proper bike shop in the list of approved vendors so I am limited to Tredz, who seem to have an excellent selection of bikes.
riding will be on the southdowns so nothing too radical.

I‘m moving back to Worthing from Liverpool soon and can recommend Southdowns bikes (they do Cycle to Work) in Broadwater, Worthing, and also Storrington. They stock Specialized and Whyte emtbs. When I was down in Worthing recently, I tested a Whyte e160s (Bosch motor with a 750Wh battery) from the Storrington store (£50 per day refundable if you buy a bike from them) and loved the bike so much that I bought one (Matt black rather then the turquoise blue model) up here in the North West from Winstanleys in Wigan but will be using Southdowns for servicing. See you out on the Downs this summer.

unfortunately the cycle to work scheme is only available through either halfords or Tredz with the company I work for. But Tredz seem to have a good selection in the price range...

You should be able to call cyclescheme and they can change the payee details to a bike shop of your choice. Thats what i have done in the past

Some good riding around the south downs, my nephew lives in the area, he goes to the Steyning trails, nice rides along the river too. Quite jealous given theres not a lot around where I live in Essex
