hello e bikers
long time cyclist here.
owned a couple of ebikes about 8 or so years ago, due to ill health.
I now want one purely for fun.

looking for a full suspension bike for a 6ft 4'' 21 stone rider.
to be used in Lakes, Dales, Wales and Calderdale
needs to be tough, but also with a good range.

any ideas greatly appreciated.

Hi Ton,
Rob (Rob Hancill) (forum admin) is a tall chap and has ridden more e-bikes than most of us.

Vitus do the e-sommet in an XL and I can confirm they are great VFM and ride well in Lakes and Dales. Range really depends on how much you lean on the motor - I've had 30 miles and 3000ft out of mine but I weigh 13 stone albeit I'm not that fit really.

Something with a 750wh battery like the new Specialized Levo comes to mind.

Or the Haibike Flyon with a 630wh battery and 120nm of torque. And if you wait long enough they'll have the new TQ motor out which should be very powerful

Luckily your height won't be an issue as the current trend in frame geometry is trending towards longer. When you're looking at bike geometry pay attention to the 'Reach' metric. This is what's going to make the bike feel roomier. For your height, I would be looking at bikes with a reach of 485mm or more.

As far as range goes, 'good range' is very subjective. Any idea how far you'd like to ride in a day? Do you see yourself sticking to the flatter trails or do you do you see yourself doing a lot of climbing?
