Might be a generational thing. Anyway, most Europeans, who speak english (sic), do so better than than the "natives". If I lapsed into the vernacular you might not get it. We call Scotch "whisky" no e. Whiskey is Irish or American.
The grand tours possibly display the most stunning scenery to my eyes (on TV). You put native english speakers to shame with your knowledge of other languages.
