So ....

.... I finally succumbed, bought myself a emtb.

As a man in my late 40’s, with the aches and pains and that extra weight the regular bike was losing its charm. Only ever really been into DH and the slogging up hills ain’t no fun and it was just killing me off. On top of that, all that time trekking for that little bit of riding is a bit soul destroying when you have limited time anyway.

I was gathering quite a shortlist of the bikes I fancied purchasing ,
YT Decoy, Propain Ekano, Scott Ransom plus a few others. So many amazing bikes coming out but I couldn’t be bothered to wait at least 6 months when I have been wanting one for 18 months so I got a 2018 Kenevo.

I do have a bit of a niggling worry something might go wrong, especially the battery and even though it was second hand it was still a lot of money. It is the most I have spent on a bike by quite a margin so please don’t fail me now. The health on the battery is thankfully at 100 and the motor sounds good so hopefully should be good.

Rode it for the first time and amazing is the word, I can see it is going to totally reignite my passion for riding. First time out last week over Cwmcarn, 5 runs down the hill and 1 XC loop and back home by 2pm. On my normal bike , 2 runs DH and that would of been it. 20 mins up the hill on the Kenevo, 45 otherwise. I would never of done the xc loop ever , I have always just been to unfit but I thoroughly enjoyed it. When I got back home I actually felt like I had a days riding, not so much physically but through the enjoyment of it.

Roll on Monday, more riding!!!!
