Has anyone experienced this with their Purion?

Howdy folks,

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this issue that I am having with my system.

I am finding that my Purion wont turn on with the power button, however it will come on with the power button on the battery but I am not getting the speedo numbers only the mode which you can adjust, although after I stop switching through the modes the Purion powers off.

It does seem to be an intermitting issue as well however it has turned itself off midway through a ride and refuses to turn back on and as you can all imagine it does make the rest of the ride a lot less fun.

Steps I have already done:

1. Changed the batteries within the Purion.
2. Fully charger the battery both in the bike and out of the bike.
3. Had a local LBS connect the bike to the diagnosis tool and the only thing found was that the system required a firmware update.
4. Contacted Bosch for support (nothing of use has come back apart from please take it to your nearest LBS).

Any advice or a possible solution would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest you check the cable connection to the Purion, then check the cable for any damage, then the connection at the battery end of the cable. If that all proves OK your choices would appear to be a new cable and/or a new purion. The alternative may be to install a Kiox kit ( the original Kiox).
Your existing Purion is the bike's controller, so given the LBS diagnostics did not reveal any fault codes etc I would suspect your problem is within the Purion itself.

Thanks Mike that was my feelings as well just deciding now if I should retrofit the Kiox and replace the Purion, as I do believe it is a plug and play replacement (please do correct me if I am wrong).

Again thank you for taking your time to rely to my post.

dont know!! Worst case it needs the LBS to plug in so that the new controller ( the Kiox) is recognised...............unless that can be done with Ebike Connect yourself.

Hi Mike just thought I would leave an update, I received a new purion and have fitted it all plug and play and it seems to be working, next step will be to go for a long ride and see if it has 100% rectified the issue.
