I'm new to this Ebike thing, but so far I'm having a lot of fun. MY first effort was building a bafang bbs02b kit on an old Giant bare frame. I build it to get a little further up some of my favorites trails, and it's pretty handy in the neighborhood. with a 42T chainring and a 36-12 cassette, on the back, it seems about right for my use. I'm in my 70s, and I'm trying to wind down on the crazy stuff, but it's still hard to stay away from the challenges.
With the kit Ebike debugged, I'm looking over the parts I bought to build a Dengfu E05. I saw there was someone here who had one, and possibly others?
When I got to the shock mountings on the E05, it was like the ultra-precision I found in RockShock and the beautifully made bushings met up with a farm fit bolt on the Dengfu side. I need 44mm of Pin in order to span the carbon bores in the pivot, but the bolt supplied for the job is just 39mm long, this forces the load to be carried by just 64% of the bore in the pivot on one side. There's a bit of slop between bore and pin as well.
When I talked to the seller, they said, "we've sold thousands of these, besides it's warranted for two years, so use it!" I contacted Dengfu, to paraphrase what they said: "you didn't buy from us, so we won't help you".
I hope I can get some close-up pictures of these fittings on another E05, I'm curious, but the answer is likely to re-engineer the fittings to my liking.
