Going Wireless

Would really love a full wireless setup from Shimano - just hope they get on with it and release something Hopefully they can include a wireless assist mode switch, or combine it with the dropper switch. And then a wireless display, or allow direct connection of a Garmin Edge/watch to to the motor (although I guess a hidden EW-EN100 would be ok too).

One interesting thing I notice about that patent is I don't think Shimano currently make dropper posts or forks? So if they're planning for a wireless dropper and wireless fork lockouts then would they start making their own brand, or allow other manufacturers to add their technology or release add-on units that can work with multiple 3rd party droppers/forks?

No idea what you're replying to @mark.ai But Shimano do have a dropper post line up. under the PRO brand name.
They also have strong links in development and design with at least one large mtb suspension company.

Aha yes that's interesting, thanks I always forget about the "PRO" brand.

We'll just have to wait and see what direction Shimano go in for wireless components. The AXS dropper seems really popular and sought after so it would be great to see some more competition for it - either a PRO wireless dropper or another brand who they have strong links with (whoever you are hinting at ) - something like a Fox wireless dropper would be cool!

Shimano aren't the only "brand" with a wireless dropper in the works.
