Four years of dragging, filing, and burning! I'm surprised that you are not down to the metal backing pad!

If they have lasted four years and only now giving problems, it must be time to change them for more of the same. The old ones don't owe you anything. :)

The brakes have lasted 4 years the problem with the pads is recent, iv rode dragging the brakes for years and never had any pads glaze.

They are probably worn out. Have you checked how much pad thickness is left. The guides say change at 1 mm thickness, but I always go below that. I wonder if the pad material close to the backing plate is altered by the process of bonding to the backing plate? Anyone know for sure?

Sandpaper them on a flat surface, clean with isopropyl alcohol, dry over a gas flame, blow out like a candle.
Sand the rotors to roughen up and clean with isopropyl alcohol. Fit pads and bed in.

Also tighten your rotor bolts and caliper bolts.

After 4 years the rotor may be too far worn. Exposed edge could be rubbing on the pad spring.
