Giant Dirt E+ 2 Pro 2018 - your thoughts, please

Looking to purchase the above bike as a first time emtb for my son. Budget is key as only have £2000 to spend. Understand that it is a ‘mid range’ bike and that the accessories are not the best on the market but we are not going to be competing on it... just trails like Wakerley Woods... Has anyone owned and or ridden one? Have the opportunity to purchase a newly new 2018 model well inside my budget so would appreciate any input (good or bad) to help make the decision.
