Ok so hears the thing, I am new to the bike sat nav world but purchased a Garmin edge 520 plus at Christmas , its the cheapest model and I sort of get its not a navigation device just a way of downloading routes onto the thing and following the arrow.
The only way I use this device is to download data from kamoot and then update it to my device, i either use other peoples rides for an adventure or my own planned routes, kamoot seems to shove me on a lot of roads and doesn't make use of many off road options to get to my destination.
My main problem with the 520 plus is it gives out some bizarre instructions constantly telling me to do a u turn only to find eventually it tells me to go back the way I have diverted from . I have a feeling this is more to do with kamoot and not the unit but for my limited knowledge of tech its a reel pain in the arse.
I guess my real question for the educated that have used Garmin and Kamoot for a while and understand its functions is would a simpleton be better off with a more expensive unit in the hopes it is more user friendly or do I just need to understand Kamoot and garmin better
