Hey guys, I said hello over in the newbie area, but I should probably formally say hello over here too, since this is where I will be spending most of my time.... Hello from Redding, CA. Just getting back in to MTB riding, and discovered EMTB in my search. Since I am getting older and fatter, the choice was easy.

Anyway, I am patiently awaiting the arrival of my Carbon Comp and am buying some toys to upgrade it so I can get even fatter....and look good while doing it. I am looking to upgrade the rear shock to a fox factory rear, but have seen you can not buy the OEM 52.5" travel shock. I have read on here that the 55 can be mounted without issue AND I have seen some people talk about a 2.5mm spacer.

Can I just mount it up? Or do I have to have a spacer put in? I don't think my LBS is familiar enough with this to do it. Thanks for the help.

So as you all probably know, "retail" was usually restricted to having to get the 55mm shock, or having one adjusted by Fox, but I spoke with a rep at fox today who turned me on to a new part number. Fox Part# 973-61-017. This is the 2020 DPX2 210 x 52.5, however they sell it under THIS part number because it comes with the hardware specific to e Trek EX. No difference in the shock, just remove the old one from your Levo, and reuse hardware. That simple. He said it was the same shock. The normal part number for the 2020 DPX2 210x52.5 is out of stock until July.

Hopefully this helps someone. It helped me!

Anyone else installed a 210x55 instead of OE 52.5 shock, Hate the stock Rockshox, I’d like to upgrade to a Fox DPS factory with no piggy back so I don’t loose the bottle cage.

Good to know, thanks.
Did you lose de bottle cage? I guess there’s no space left with the piggy back shock
Nope, use the specialized keg. Plus there are smaller volume bottles out there.

I've just ordered the 52.5 DPX2 2020 (Trek Fuel Ex). Can I just swap it out for the old RockShox deluxe RT3? No additional hardware needed? What is the travel on the DPX2?

So tried to fit the dpx2 shock this weekend, however, the top eyelet is narrower on the Fox, and cannot use existing hardware to fit without there being some side to side movement!
