Hey guys

Saw this the other day and wondering whether it will fit my Whyte E160 S?
I am slowly but surely upgrading bits, and having ridden an RSX last year, thought this could be a better option than upgrading the damper on the Zeb!?

Thoughts? Opinions?

Thanks in advance

I'm assuming that you have a Zeb A2 fork with the Rush RC Damper. If thats anything like a Marzocchi/Fox Rail damper then it leaves quite some room for improvement. Going for a Charger 2.1 damper upgrade (if you can find any left - they were heavily discounted a while ago) would be a great budget option, also that's the same damper in the new Zeb A2 Select+. If you want a Charger 3 damper upgrade then you will probably have to get the new air spring with it so you have butter cups in both legs.

IMO be honest about your riding skills and what you need from a damper. I have a Fox 38 Performance Elite and TBH I am not skilled enough to need all the adjustments it offers. Just low speed compression and rebound is probably enough from a Fox 38 Performance. Just don't get a Rhythm 38, as far as I'm aware that's got a Rail damper basically going to be the same as a base Zeb A2.

Also 2023 Fox 38 Factory on sale for $625 or so on the Fox website both 27.5 and 29 available.

Yeah its the A2 with Rush RC and its ok, but I feel like I need some added small bump sensitivity.

I ride in the Lake Distict here in the uk, which is quite rcoky...but also has a lot of loose 'rubble' type terrain and I find the Zeb in stock a little harsh there.....I demo'd the e160RSX last year in the lakes and the Fox 38 PE was lovely to ride......and I just cant set the Zeb up like that.
I'm not a 'tweaker'....I like to set it as a general setup and then just ride.....

What exactly does that do?
(In plain English please....🤣)
Swaps the air spring out for a coil spring. Makes it a bit heavier but it feels seriously plush.

I couldn't get my fox 38 grip 2 feeling right so I swapped out for a Smashpot. They aren't cheap but they can be swapped between any fork you might own currently or in future.

Your fork ends up with way less stiction and you get the plush feel of a coil spring.

Add a coil rear shock and it's like floating on a cloud :D

To add though. If your zeb has the low end damper then upgrading damper to a charger 2.1/3 will make a big difference also.

(but I've become a Smashpot fan boy now)
