Do our friends in the UK celebrate the 4th?
Yeah, the UK celebrates the Fourth of July like you celebrate the time your bastard son sued you for your bass fishing boat and your lake cabin and won. It's a huge holiday all over the entire UK.Do our friends in the UK celebrate the 4th?
If we celebrated every time a former colony gained independence we'd never have time to do any work!Do our friends in the UK celebrate the 4th?
OK fair enough, "celebrate" is a strong word to use, "commemorate" would be better. Mind you I'm sure that some do actually "celebrate", (especially when there are French people around). No one celebrates those. What on earth are you on about??

I almost forgot …
Burns night!
Friday ? I seem to remember that every week it was patriotically celebrated throughout the Empire - until 11pm !In the 49 years of my life living in the UK I’ve never heard of anyone celebrating or commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar or Waterloo. However, I don’t mix in military circles, maybe that’s where it comes from ?
Things the average Brit appears to celebrate …
Christmas
Bonfire Night
Halloween (well the kids do)
World Book Day (kids again)
Summer Solstice
St Patricks’ Day (Irish)
Winning at football (rare)
Can’t think of anything else ….

Brexit ? Surely, with how magnificent the NHS is with all the extra money and having got rid of all the people who came to work who (god forbid) weren't conceived on a Friday night celebration in the UK, it must be celebrated annually for at least a week of none stop festivities ?
Everything alright at home, pal?
