Fork rotation stop

After sliding along on my a*** after hitting solid ice, my fork had rotated far enough to both pull the DPC245 plug out but also the gear change cable had pulled out. Fortunately a riding partner carries a cable and easily solved out on the trail. But how many carry a spare cable ?

My E10 frame doesn't have a fork stopper on it. Can anyone recommend a manufactured one that I can fit or do I simply have to make one. ?

Thanks.

Devices such as those you describe are typically used on bikes where the fork crown crashes into the downtube. The problem on your bike might have been caused by cables and hoses that were cut too short. Nothing is so ugly as freakishly long cables, but trimming them too short causes its own problems. For comparison, I can get about 180 degrees rotation on my bars before things start to become problematic.

Agree, but this time the bars must have gone probably beyond 180 degrees. Never really had a problem of this type before and any longer and they would be so sticky out front to look really weird.

I will check though as maybe the cable outer has slipped back through the frame.

The Gen1 Specialized Levo has a set of rotation stoppers. You could look at them if you know anyone that has one.

I have always hated them and I can't understand why they are there.
