FO14 410wh 43v battery sleep mode

Hi, I have the CEF50 bike with Bafang 43v M820 motor and a FO14 410wh 43v battery - I don't think it is a Bafang battery as the case shape is different to the BT FO14 that I have seen and it does not have a Bafang logo printed/attached to the case. Anyway, my battery seems to gone into sleep mode as the motor will now only switch on when I plug the charger into the frame. Has anyone else experienced this? How can I check if it's in sleep mode and, how do I stop it from going into sleep mode? Any advise would be appreciated.
