Where ever
Can anybody tell me what the Flyup 417 bike park is like. How far is it to bike to the top from the car park instead of using the uplift service. Are the runs good and hold shape in this weather. Thinking of going for a ride there soon. (y)

It is a great place been a few times last outing was with my ebike and had a blast.
It doesn't take long to ride from the bottom to top and is good going hard packed but I have only done it couple of times as I paid for the uplift.
I also popped down on a week days and got loads of uplifts in. If you go at the weekend you will probably best cycling up as it can get packed.
It doesn't matter the weather as the tracks are extremely put down well so don't worry about that side. They have a café on site as well.

It's a fairly short push up. I managed numerous laps and I'm ancient. It's OK with very well maintained trails. BUT. The surface is very hard and fast, so hard and fast in fact it encouraged me to buy and wear a full face helmet. It's expensive for what it offers IMO e.g. not many trails and they are a bit on the shortish side but probably just about long enough to be entertaining. Then again there is the indoor pump track if that's your thing but that's extra. At least Bike Park Wales has lots of trails and they are all long. At the moment you have to book in advance and there doesn't appear to be anything available in November. When it was £10 for a session I was prepared to pay but for me £15.50 is simply not good value for money. I will go again but not that often and I'm local. I would rather drive 45 minutes to FOD which is free.

Back in Cirencester now for a couple of weeks so heading to 417 this week to see what it’s all about. Was going last year but Covid put a stop to that. (y)

It's ok. Nothing more. I feel they could do so much better with the elevation they have there.
I usually visit once or twice a year early in the season to warm up after the winter break.

Just got back from 417. What do I think.
I think they need a sign out on the main road pointing you into the park, the long driveway must be fun if you meet someone coming the other way. When you get to the carpark there’s no signs telling you where to go to sign in etc.
I never used the uplift service because I think it was to expensive, it was bad enough having to pay £18 that’s Ebike price to go and play on the hill. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind paying as these places need staff to build the trails, maintain them etc. But I hate paying more because I have an EBike, that bit I don’t get.
The signs for the push up or in my case ride-up we’re pretty poor also. Once at the top I chose to do Cheese roller because I like single track and it-had lots of berms, I also did Blue raccoon, Igneous and Dubby Skipper, all in all I did six runs down. I enjoyed myself but as #lazy said would be better with mates, but I don’t have any :D so have to ride on my own. Would I go back, yes I would if in the area because there’s not a lot else around Cirencester but for the last two seasons March to November I have been working in Snowdonia so Coed Y. Brenin has been my playground. I got spoiled having that on my dooorstep.(y)
