Fluctuating speeds

Hi Folks.

Today when out on my Trek Rail I noticed that the speed on the Kiox controller was fluctuating quite a bit, in the lower speeds it would generally be fine but when approaching the 16.5mph limit it would start fluctuating quite a bit with the motor assistance switching on and off quite rapidly.

There is no fault codes on the Kiox, the bike hasn't been de restricted, the magnet is clean and secure as is the speed sensor. When I got home I gave the bike a good clean and blew out the connection port for the speed sensor cable.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Sounds like the magnet has metal shavings from the disk rotor. You need to remove the magnet and wipe all the metal off. Doing it when it’s attached to the rotor makes it hard to get the last few bits off

Yep I had this issue, and it was the magnet. Cleaning didn’t work for me, in the end I ordered a different one to try and it’s been fine ever since. I had Magura rotors so I put the Magura magnet on and it works perfectly.
