Fitting rim magnet

Has any 1 removed the plastic hub magnet and fitted a rim magnet (over valve stem) to a 2022 cube stereo hybrid with the smart system kiox 300 ,750 battery. My local shop where I got bike is telling me it’s a no go but I can’t see why not. Smashed the plastic 1 off once (and I was dead in the water) and don’t want it happening again.

There is no point, because the magnet on the valve is very strong. You can try installing a very strong neodymium magnet and try if the magnetic field interacts with the sensor in the motor. With an ordinary spoke magnet it will not work. Alternatively, you can try gluing a strong neodymium magnet to the inside of the wheel rim (tubeless wheel, with an inner tube will not work).
