Kenevo Gen1 Fitting hopes to 2018 Kenevo

I have a question if anybody has the answer, I am sure there maybe a few people with Hope brakes on there Kenevo.

Basically will I need to chop off hose connector to feed it through the tab on downtube bearing in mind the derailleur cable is routed through there?
Obviously I would rather not have to chop cable because then I would need another connector which is not a major expense but I have already spent a S - - t ton and don’t want to spend anymore.

You can buy a proper barb to join two hoses together and pull them through.

I've done it a couple of times without .. one time I just taped them together, end to end, with a back up bit of tiny string taped ahead of the join incase the tape join came apart, so I had a backup - the string.

The other time I just made a barb by cutting the head off a small screw - so you end up with a threaded length, one end threaded in the old bit, one in the new .. then pull and push carefully. Obviously battery out and you could squirt some lube on the hoses so they slide through easier.

I think @Christian ran hopes on his, so would have insight into any other issues.

Thanks for the reply, was planning on doing that just in case. I want to try and make it as quick and easy as possible, made that mistake before and it’s a nuisance.
My concern is the cable entry point is very small so I have my doubts to whether the hose connection will fit through it especially with the derailleur cable routed through there as well

Yup, that is pretty tight. At least if you take it off you'll have more chance of feeding them through together rather than at the fixed angle. If you take the derailleur one out, do your brake, then re-feed the derailleur you could do it ?

Ok I think this is what your referring to?
If so yes I had to drill it out a bit as the braided line was thicker. Standard hose I think is similar to Sram. Defiantly easier to take out the cable guide and guide through cables and then refit. Difficult to get the screw back in but patience and good use of 5 fingers will help.
Carefully insert the braided line into the cable clips along the downtube as the thicker braided line pinch’s easily. The rest around the motor and through the chainstay is easy. I did remove the crank and motor cover so not sure how easy it is to pull the cable through with the barb or the Zimmerscrew (great idea) method if the cover is still on.

Excellent, thanks. Can’t wait to receive them now, Tuesday hopefully. I wasn’t looking forward to the prospect of endlessly messing with the Codes. Cleaned pistons up and we’re working good, 6 rides later and I was having trouble with them again. Our rental bikes at work were all SRAM, Guides and Levels and they are a a pain.

Yeah mate my Hopes have been on 3 bikes now and they have been faultless. Once they are bled properly they work great.
