First time on a mountain bike, first time on an eBike

Hey all,

After doing some research on what eBikes were available to me, I landed on a great Cube Reaction Hybrid to use as a daily commuter to work. I live in Iceland, and the weather is generally sh*t, so it's not a bad idea to have something that's very capable in poor conditions all year around. I've been using a cyclocross bike, which is great fun as well, but man oh man am I discovering another level of fun on the mountain bike and I've started to tackle the trails available in and around my area.

Seems like there's a lot to learn about the bike and mountain biking in general, and a ton of search results have pointed me to these forums in the past, so I figured it might be time to sign up.

PS. Here's a picture of the bike I took while exploring an active volcanic eruption site in the south of Iceland. I couldn't get closer to the crater, as that area is closed for the time being.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new ebike. You'll get some great advice on here, although you've already discovered the fun factor of ebikes.

You should come to Cumbria.......................we get loads of brown steaming stuff in the fields around here!

The grip and ride itself is great! Some minor issues however that I might need to check up on from the seller – i.e. cracking sounds from the seatpost and rough gearing.

I had hoped to get the bike closer to the crater itself, which is still spewing molten lava, but I'll have to try that again later. Here's a shot a buddy took of the crater a few weeks ago:
