First proper ride

Thought I’d make the most of all the mud being frozen this morning, so took the bike out for a proper ride. Just went to Swinley Forest, so did a load of tracks over there.

Initial impressions are good. I much prefer 27.5” wheels, as the turn in is much sharper on the technical stuff, compared to 29”, IMO. On the single track stuff, I was catching stuff up and overtaking (where it was safe to do so ;)).

I had Michelin DH22 tyres fitted to the bike when I bought it, as I’d read great things about them, so hadn’t ridden one with the standard tyres, but compared to my Cube, the bike is slower rolling, so I found that I was using the motor a lot more than on the Cube. Strangely, on my fitness app, I burnt a lot more calories on this bike, so the extra drag must be more of a workout! I’ve got some Michelin Wild tyres to go on that bike soon, so it'll be interesting to see if they turn that bike into a tractor too!

I’ll need to adjust the levers/gear shifters/ Kiox controller, and maybe play with the bars a bit. I thought the seat would be too high, so looked at lowering the dropper, but it’s spot on.

Overall, I’m happy. Just need to play around a bit more with those settings, and get some more miles on it!

Tyres the wrong way around! :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, I've done that! Despite all the usual "check twice, cut once" malarkey, I still did it. :giggle:

But never two of them!! Only ever done one at a time before. Although I have done it more than once over the years. :giggle::giggle:
