Buying ebike after hired Lapiere in Finale Ligure last July so sold on ebike. More i read about model I chose I changed mind. Started of wanted Nicolai then specialized Haibike, now finally decided on Merida 160 900e which I should test ride next week. I'm 15 stone so any advice appreciated. Done a lot of biking but 63 now still feel I need a bike that I can use on serious stuff now and then
Any advice well one.

Welcome - we are lucky in that there are lots of good bikes out there at the moment.

Apply the same logic you would for buying a normal bike, and narrow down the choice of bikes based off the kind of riding you want to do, and the geometry fit, then start to look at the finer details.

In terms of motors they are all good and get the job done, however the Bosch is the oldest, and rumours are that it will be updated/replaced next year, and in terms of tuneaility/conectivity via apps lags behind the completion. It is also the heaviest system so you will find Bosch bikes tend to be heavier.

The other factor to consider is charging the bike, as if you cant charge the bike where you store it then you will want an easily removable battery.
