I have a shimano e6000 bike and put an e8000 trigger to control the motor. Does not power on? Is this not compatible? Seemed straight forward just plug in and go?

So even if I changed to the e8000 display this does not seem to be interchangeable? CAN NOT use with the e6000 motor? Wanted a more traditional trigger to change modes. Seems my only option is the e6010 switch over the e6000.

Just gave my LBS a call but the guy that does ebikes is away for a while. Owner advised me to tell you to contact your LBS and they will talk to their Shimano Tech Support. Seemed to think it was possible but they had to hook the bike up and reset device parameters.

From what I understand...it's almost all compatible with a little programming. Even the chart I sent you shows some 8000 series stuff compatible with the 6000 series drive unit.

Yes it is a di2 shifter. But the chart shows only the sw e6000 or e6010 as compatible left hand switches for the motor? Guess it was wishful thinking. Did not see a link to contact shimano so I will stop by REI. My battery powers on but no display. Thanx for the input anyway.
