I chose Whyte 160 RS, assuming it was my Levo that got nicked. I already have the Whyte E180RS so the 2 would make a good bike stable.....1 xc/trail and 1 Enduro.
My reasoning is based on my experience thus far with my Whyte E 180. I have found nothing on it I need or want to change, it has been really well assembled, and I like the Whyte design philosophy of low centre of balance and a medium but progressive suspension tune.
..............And its ??

Gen 3 Levo for me.

Delighted with my 2020 so why would I try anything else from another brand just for the sake of it and lose the company support and CS and ( allegedly) get a better bike (s) ?

The first thing I absolutely don't want is a 29" front wheel and it seems at a glance to be the one thing all those bikes have in common.

The scott is 27.5 compatible - you just use the flip chip. But at 24 kg

You have to buy a new bike tomorrow as yours was stolen.

Since the thieving mongrel is likely to come back for whatever I get , it'd have to be the specialized. Make them feel shame if they are seen in public

Voted for the Levo but only just. I have the 2021 Merida in 9K spec and it's just fantastic. The only reason I voted for the Spech is because I'd probably try something different just to see what all the fuss is about.

And at $3K I could sell it for more than I paid for it and buy a Merida 10K... :)

Yeah. I'm not interested in anything heavier than 22.5kg at all.
I truely believe 50lb is the threshild where Ebikes change from shit heavy handling lumps and start to become more nimble.
22.5kg = 49.6lb + 400g for pedals

The scott is 27.5 compatible
Every 29er is 27.5 compatible. and most 29" Emtbs have too high a BB stock (for me)
Some just take more fucking about to achieve good 27.5 geometry/handling than others

for the TREK this would just mean a wheelset swap
Hmmm. What tyre size would you be running?

I have a 27.5 front wheel in the garage but it's got a 2.8 tyre on it and I know you're not a fan.

a 2.5 DHF or 2.35 Magic Mary upfront with a 2.3 SS or 2.4 DHRII rear
depending on whether dry or wet weather performance was important that day but I mainly just run the 2.5 DHF front 2.3 SS rear all year round and in any conditions and just deal with the reduced traction like a boss

Bullit, aside from being well reviewed I like their warranty, UDH and they tried to stick to common sizing on parts. I can also do a Norfun accent and pretending I'm Steve Peat while rolling around on the blue trails.

2.8+ would be much easier on your back ... :p :ROFLMAO:
The discomfort from knowing everyone was pointing and laughing behind me would cancel out any increase in comfort ;)

I'll probably be riding on 700x23mm tyres tomorrow BTW. I genuinely can't ride an mtb without hopping, manualling or wheelying so roadbike or no bike is my only option ATM.

Genuine question (hypothetical)

You have to buy a new bike tomorrow as yours was stolen. All bikes are priced at the same cost. There is no wait time. You can have ANY current ebike, top spec, it'll cost you £3k. What bike would you go for? And why?

Poll is anonymous but feel free to add your reason for choosing below...
Kenevo Prime is my fantasy bike. Soon to be a reality.
Proper lightweight enduro ebike. Nuff said!

After rocking a cube stereo hybrid for 6 months. I've decided the future for my future e-mtb is all about weight. So I've voted orbea, simply because one of the rises is going to be my next bike.

Where ever
I chose the Whyte just because I have one and am happy with it. It would take me twelve months to make my mind up otherwise with a list that long. (y)

Interesting that Scott, Cannondale and Giant are not in the running at all ...yet.

The Trail.
For me a mix between the SC Bullitt and the Gen3 Levo.

Ideally in fantasy land - a Gen3 Levo approach with 165-170mm out back and 170mm front.

Tbh if money was no object I would be looking at the Alutech CNC E Fanes. Not so much driven by the spec or anything other than I think it’s a work of art.
