• Warning!!

Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

Experience with Bikespeed RS and Bosch Gen4

Did someone tried the BikeSpeed RS with Bosch 2020 Gen4 ?
On his website they state "We have found a way around this detection and have already driven well over 1000 km without detection. Nevertheless, we must point out that our tests have not yet been completed. "

I rode with their product since 3 years with a lot of satisfaction; now they've upgraded me the chip (paying only shipping costs...great customer care!) to be compliant to the new bike, but I'm a little scared to mount before to have some good witnesses.

Thanks in advance

Hi Did you end up installing this?

If so how did you get on?

Nope... never have the "boldness"

the website keeps to say since October

*) Bosch has implemented manipulation detection in the motors of the 4th generation. We have found a way around this detection and have already driven well over 1000 km without detection. Nevertheless, we must point out that our tests have not yet been completed. If the error 504 should unexpectedly occur, please contact us.

It is that "not yet" that stops me :)

A week ago I installed the bikespeed-RS on my Bosch performance line cruise (65Nm). My motor isn't a gen 4 cx but it does have the Bosch anti-tuning software. I was doubting between the bikespeed-RS and peartune MSO, both are not limited to 35 km/h and work with the Bosch anti-tuning software without giving the 504 error.
The bikespeed works great, has no count-down timer (such as the speedbox), and until now no 504 error (although it's too early for a definitive conclusion).

I was wondering about the bikespeed RS compared to the Volspeed V3 but it looks like there's not a lot of RS owners using it on the new V4 Bosch CX motors . . .
