EP8 software updates - just do it?

Just picked up a canyon spectral on cf7 during canyon’s sale.

Opened up the app, and it says there’s a few software updates to do.

Are these helpful to us/end users? Or more just to help shimano to keep us from messing with things?

Am I gonna get improvements by updating?

Shimano are going to protect their unit and also make it better for the user with tweaks, new-features etc.
They release notes about the changes, so you can read and decide for yourself.

Shimano Service Centre will allways update, if you send your bike in for motor repair.
