I am the proud owner of a ktm exc enduro in the UK and a trek powerfly 8 lt on the continent where I spend alot of time at the moment. On the continent I have a city center apartment and keep the mtb and associated garb in a self storage locker. I wanted to comment on how well works.
My ktm requires 100 quid, an hour of maintenance and 1 hour of driving to an to event/practice for 1 hour of riding/racing (averaged over 15 years)
My trek is substantially less hassle/ expense and offers a very enjoyable riding experience. In some ways similar to the ktm. My ebike is much faster than a regular bicycle which means I take wider more motorcycle like lines.
At a push I prefer to ride the ktm - but.... if I could only keep one it'd be the trek. I'd highly recommend ebikes to offroad motorcyclists and/ or city dwellers. If you do storage locker thing make sure you ride the bike around a bit after lubrication before storing it as oil stains are difficult to remove.
