Hi all,

I have a vitus e-sommet which has the DT SWISS H1900 hybrid wheels on it. The rear hub has the dt Swiss 18t ratchet system currently. Looking to upgrade this to a 54t ratchet for better engagement and noise.

Would a quicker engagement hub have an effect on the way the motor performs?

Thanks

A quicker engagement hub had an effect on the way I perform. The assist from the motor never changed, whether I was climbing or descending. The change was immediately noticeable, especially on technical rooty/rocky climbs. I had fewer peddle strikes likely from the faster engagement and the ability to stop peddling and then quickly go.

I currently have the Project 3-2-1 hub, 32 spoke, 220(?) POE. An increase in POE, on whatever hub you choose, can be an improvement.
