So I had an error on my e-one sixty and had to send it in for repair under warranty, je james cycles arranged the pickup from my house through dpd on the 21st of May, and now 10 days + later they say dpd has lost my bike but not to worry as its covered, what I was wondering is are the upgraded seat, pedals, tyres, grips also covered? Didn't keep any receipts but have proof I bought them on my bank statements to various bile shops, they are also waiting for dpd to do an "investigation" , how long does that take? Getting a bit frustrated as I also use my bike for commuting and its costing me £120 a week in travel costs at the moment

Where ever
Gutted for you. Hope it turns up but not looking good. Male sure you claim for all your travel expenses etc on top of your loss of bike.

Hopefully DPD will be able to locate the bike, they have asked to allow up to 6pm on Friday.

Obviously I won’t be able to respond to any reply after 4.30pm.

If we can allow them to complete the investigation at their end I can then speak with my manager and we can take it from there.

Unfortunately we weren’t aware of any modifications/upgrades on the bike so these would not be covered for losses

That's their reply, they won't even claim for the upgrades on the bike, anything else I can do?

I think that there is a lesson here: take photos of everything when you send a bike.
A guy in a shop here in Germany told me that he had sent his Canyon bike for repair. They claimed that he had only sent the frame...

I did take photos of the bike with the upgrades in the box, what they are now telling me was that because they were unaware of the upgrades at the time they booked the pickup they cannot do anything as it was only insured to the value of the bike

That's a few hundred quid lost, I'd be pushing them to do something. After all, they can keep all the OE bits and sell them.

There sticking to nothing they can do, I'll phone citizens advice in the morning and see what they suggest
