The threads on the up/down chain guide adjustment lock screw are ridiculously fragile. Mine provides two options:
(1) The chain guide will eventually drop to its lowest position (close to the sprocket), which results in the chain rubbing on the guide.
(2) I try to tighten the adjustment lock screw just a tiny bit more, which results in stripping the useless threads.
I modified mine to use a conventional nut and bolt, but it looks a bit crude. OTOH, it stays where I put it.
So, do any of the bike part suppliers offer a sturdier chain guide that is adjustable for various size crank sprockets?
